Launching The Woodshed Creative Residencies.
Where Craft Meets Fire
The Woodshed Residencies are a curated series of immersive 2 day experiences, each grounded in a material, craft or hand made tradition. From charcoal and clay to paint pigment, smoke and fermentation, every residency explores the transformation of raw materials through skilled hands.
In an increasingly digital world, The Woodshed Residencies offer a return to slower rhythms and the enduring value of making by hand. More than workshops, they are immersive celebrations of creativity, craftsmanship and shared experiences centred around the table in the Noosa Hinterland.

Immersive 2 Day Experiences
Photo Credit Benjamin SowryTwo Days With Lauren Jones
An immersive painting retreat at The Woodshed.
Lauren Jones paints with immediacy. Colour, light, flowers, still life — ordinary things made compelling through the act of looking closely and painting quickly.
Now, for two days, a small group of painters will step into her world in conjunction with The Woodshed, in the rolling hills of the Noosa hinterland.
Two days to paint, eat, slow down and see the landscape differently.
The focus is alla prima — painting wet-on-wet, with each work created in a single sitting. Lauren will guide painters through her approach to colour, composition, brushwork and the instinctive decisions that give a painting its energy. Beginners are welcome. Experienced painters will find plenty to push their practice further.
Mornings at the easel. Time to paint, pause and begin again. The surrounding hinterland becomes part of the experience — the light, the greens, the changing sky, the flowers and still life arranged before you.
Then there is the table.
Farmhouse breakfasts. Long lunches. Fire-pit cocktails. And a seven-course dinner cooked entirely over fire in The Woodshed, recently awarded “Best Destination Dining 2026” by Gourmet Traveller.
Two nights of country hospitality, exceptional food and painting in good company.
Two days. A handful of painters. Plenty of colour.

Inaugural 2-Day Charcoal Residential At The Woodshed
Begin this unique 2 day event beneath the mighty fig tree, gathered around the fire pit with artist Elisabeth Berry, whittling vine cuttings and transforming them into drawing charcoal over glowing embers.
As dusk falls, move into The Woodshed for a cocktail and its celebrated seven-course live-fire degustation, where fire becomes the medium once again. The following day, return to create with the very charcoal you’ve made by hand.
Part artist’s residency, part gourmet escape, this immersive two-day experience celebrates the enduring connection between fire, craft and creativity in the heart of the Noosa Hinterland.

FINE ART EXHIBITION
“SYMBIOSIS” Exhibition by Kate Owen
SYMBIOSIS explores the parallels between the underground world of fungi and the relationships that shape our lives.
The semi-representational mushroom forms and expressive abstract paintings, explore the parallels between the hidden world of fungi and the complexity of human relationships. While the mushroom inspired works celebrate the extraordinary diversity of fungal forms, the abstract paintings evoke the environments in which they thrive, layers of underground shadowed spaces and rich organic matter where unseen networks sustain life.
Rich in colour and instinctive mark-making, the works celebrate nature's quiet intelligence and the beauty of what lies beneath the surface.
The exhibition invites viewers to consider the invisible threads that sustain us, reminding us that, like thriving ecosystems, our strongest relationships are those with connection.
