Where Art Meets Fire
Join us for the inaugural Charcoal Drawing Residency where art and fire meet over 2 days in August.
This winter, The Woodshed extends its celebrated dining experience beyond the weekend, introducing an intimate Thursday evening service and a curated artistic monthly residency program celebrating food, craft and creativity.
Spend an afternoon beside the flames with artist Elisabeth Berry, whittling vine cuttings and transforming them into charcoal over glowing embers. The following day, use your own handcrafted charcoal in a guided drawing workshop, exploring expressive mark-making before completing a finished piece to keep.
As daylight fades, the focus shifts from the artist’s fire to the chefs hearth. Gather in the rustic luxury of The Woodshed for dinner and watch as the celebrated seven-course degustation is prepared entirely over flame and served directly from the fire to your table.
A celebration of fire, craftsmanship, food and creativity, this inaugural residency invites you to slow down, gather around the flames and reconnect with the joy of making in one of the Noosa Hinterland’s most atmospheric destinations.

“"Art and food have always been two of my greatest passions. Having lived around the world and studied art from a young age, I've come to appreciate that true creativity happens when we slow down, work with our hands and share food with others. Bringing artist residencies to Kin Kin feels like a natural extension of everything we hope to create here—a place where people can gather, make, eat and leave feeling inspired. I cannot wait for Elisabeth to light all our proverbial fires and make charcoal!"
