PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBITION
This exhibition presents a body of work shaped by over a decade behind the lens and a lifelong affinity with animals. Originally from Belgium and now based on the Sunshine Coast, Jennifer Chassagnol brings a refined sensibility to subjects often overlooked—elevating pets, equine, and hinterland wildlife into quietly powerful studies of form, presence, and spirit.
What began as portraiture for devoted pet owners has evolved into The Animal Project—a broader exploration of the innate beauty and quiet dignity of animals beyond ownership. Farm creatures, birds, and endangered species are rendered with the same care and reverence as any classical subject, revealing a gentle empathy between the natural world and ourselves—one that is so often overlooked in the pace of modern life.
Each image is produced locally in Queensland and printed by hand in Brisbane using museum-grade archival materials. The result is work that is both intimate and enduring—photographs that transcend documentation to become heirloom pieces.
This exhibition invites viewers to consider animals not as subjects alone, but as collaborators in a practice defined by precision, connection, and respect for the land they inhabit.

Jennifer Chassagnol At The Kin Kin Hotel
I’ve been moved by Jennifer’s rare ability to reveal the quiet spirit within each animal she photographs. Her process and patience allows something unguarded to surface, resulting in portraits that feel both deeply intimate and mesmerising to look at.
To present this body of work at The Kin Kin Hotel feels entirely fitting—a place where the quiet everyday characters of the hinterland are elevated into something profoundly evocative. All too often cheaper imitation animal prints are available en masse for people to furnish their homes with. Jennifer is the real deal, sitting patiently alongside animals in the fields or enabling them to feel safe in her studio. I hope this exhibition invites a moment of stillness and connection between viewer and animals, and offers the opportunity to purchase a piece of exquisite photography for your home.
