Back by popular demand, we’re showcasing ceramics by local potter Prue Macfarlane, founder of Noosa Pottery Studio.

Prue’s plates and wall sconces are woven into the fabric of The Woodshed restaurants luxury live-fired dining experience at The Kin Kin Hotel.

The ceramics glazes, shapes, and textures play off the warm glow of candlelight, the char of the open-fire kitchen, and the rustic rough- sawn wood walls.

With a long history of studio wheel work since 1984, each piece is handmade and then painted or dipped in a range of her self made food safe glazes. She fires her works in her gas kiln at over 1300 degrees celsius, and as any potter will tell you, the end result after vitrification always has an element of surprise!

Her handcrafted tableware enhances The Woodshed’s seasonal produce and will elevate anyone’s home table setting to a level of unique beauty.

At the exhibition, Prue’s plates and cups, pickling jars and platters will be available for immediate purchase, inviting guests to take home a slice of The Woodshed’s grounded refinement along with some new playful pieces.

Collaborating with Prue on the bespoke plateware and ceramic wall lights for The Woodshed restaurant has been a true joy for Oscar and me. Her work does far more than serve the dining experience — it elevates it, infusing every corner of the room with texture, warmth, and artistry. To now present Prue’s ceramics alongside the paintings of Lauren Jones feels like a perfect dialogue between disciplines, a parallel of craftsmanship that celebrates both hard-earned artistry and the simple pleasure of living with beautiful things.
