Lauren Jones At The Kin Kin Hotel
This October, as part of the Sunshine Coast Open Houses Tour and the Noosa Council Heritage Pub Trail, The Kin Kin Hotel is honoured to host a pop-up exhibition by renowned Sunshine Coast painter Lauren Jones.
Known for her evocative still lifes in oil which look closely at the every-day items; fruit, flowers or a new found or favourite object, Jones reminds us to savour the smallest details.
Her alla prima technique-completing each work in a single sitting, imbues her canvases with immediacy and freshness, elevating the ordinary permanently into the extraordinary.
At The Kin Kin Hotel, we celebrate the simple rituals that make life meaningful: the quiet pleasure of a perfectly brewed coffee, the flake of a fresh croissant, or the solace of a moment alone in a well worn chair.
Our heritage spaces, layered with history and design, invite a slower gaze, a deeper noticing. It is this same spirit we are honoured to host Lauren Jones, whose impressionistic works capture those same fleeting, beautiful details.
Friday 10th - Sunday 12th October
Thurs 16th - Sunday 19th October
New works. 7 days only.
The Kin Kin Hotel is open : Thursday - Sunday from 8am with barista coffee and fresh pastries.

“From the moment I arrived in Australia, I was captivated by Lauren’s work—her ability to distil the fleeting beauty of life onto canvas is nothing short of poetic. I’ve followed her practice closely, attended her workshops, and remain in awe of her talent. To now present her paintings within the heritage walls I’ve lovingly restored feels like a perfect conversation between art and place.
Whether you are a long time fan, or a first timer to Lauren’s work I hope this pop up sparks a moment of contemplative enjoyment within you.”
